The member representing Lokoja II state constituency, Honourable Idris Ndako has disassociated himself from the purported vote of confidence passed on Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
Hon Ndako made the declaration while reacting to a publication in the Leadership Newspaper of Thursday, 2
February 2017 where it was reported that members of Kogi State House of Assembly passed vote of confidence on the governor.
He said there was never a time the House passed a vote of confidence on Governor Bello.
“To the best of my knowledge, nothing of such happened. What I know is that the House commended the Governor for renovating the hallowed chamber”, he said.
The lawmaker, who accused the newspaper (Leadership Newspaper) for unprofessional act, stated further that this report is the second time the Leadership Newspaper will be publishing false reports on the House.
“You will recall that this same Newspaper printed unprintable words against members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the House alleging them of corruption”.
He appealed to the general public to ignore the publication which he described as an efforts by some paid agents to incite the people against the lawmakers.
“I will continue to give and stand with the people of my immediate constituency in particular and Kogi state in general at all time.
“I was elected to protect the interest of my people, not to passed a vote of confidence or act as a stooge to executive. That is my mandate and on that I stand”
