The Kogi State Commissioner for Budget and Planning who is also supervising Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Oloruntoba Kehinde from Akutupa Kiri in Kabba/Bunu LGA, has taken upon himself to mark register of workers coming to work in the morning and leaving by 4.00 pm.
According to an officer in the Ministry of Agriculture, who spoke to media men on condition of anonymity, Mr.  Kehinde would come to the ministry at about 3.45pm and start calling names as workers would gather to answer, “Present Sir” like primary school pupils.
Also in the Ministry of Budget and Planning, the commissioner who has no civil service experience, calls register of workers to check workers absent from office in the face of scanty salary payment.
A director in the Ministry of Budget and planning confirmed that workers gather in front of the former bank worker to answer ‘present sir’, so as not to be categorized as ghost worker, which has become the order of the day.

Kogi State workers continue to face intimidation, insults and abuses in the hands of political office holders and screening committee members even as majority have not received salary for the past 12 months.
