…ATGF Set To Roll Out N2M Schorlaship Awards In Yagba West 
Vessels Football Club of Egbe at the weekend defeated their opponents, Saint Peters FC by lone goal in the final game of the maiden edition of Akure Toyosi Football Competition.
The final match culminating in the closing ceremony which held at Titcombe College, Egbe saw the victorious Vessels FC take home N20,000 in addition to a set of jerseys. The runners-up, Saint Peters FC got 15,000 in addition to holes (socks), while the third placed team, Mekun FC got cash prize of N5,000.
Chairman of the ceremony, Hon Ayo Alabi praised the three finalists and other participating teams for the display of “abundant talents” and praised the organizers for their foresight,  saying though the trophy had been won and lost, “there was no winner, no vanquished as those who don’t win today can win tomorrow.”
He admonished the players to always allow the spirit of sportsmanship to guide them in the field of play if they must progress to higher pedestal in the game.
“This is my advice for those of you who may wish to pursue your football career beyond this level. I am proud of you all”, he said.
Meanwhile,  as part of its activities marking this year’s  Christmas and New Year on a joyful note,  Akure Toyosi Global Foundation (ATGF) has called for nomination from members of the public of the needy as beneficiaries of the foundation’s proposed schorlaship awards to indigent students.
ATGF is also set to put smiles on the faces of five families who will benefit from the gesture.
Each of the families will go home with N50,000 worth of gifts and cash, while 30 secondary school students will have the bill of their WAEC fees picked by the foundation.
10 other students will also get scholarships to study in any federal or state universities of their choices.
The humanitarian gestures are expected to gulp a total of  Two Million Naira, according to the foundation.
Nomination commences from December 23 to December 31, 2017. Presentation of the awards to successful nominees is scheduled for February 2018.
