UNIJOS Alumni to Honour Kogi Deputy Governor With Lecture

University of Jos alumni and stakeholders in the solid minerals sector will on Thursday, 2nd September 2021, gather at the main auditorium of the Federal University Lokoja for a 2021 Special Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series in honour of the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Dr. Edward Onoja.

This was contained in a press statement signed and made available to newsmen in Lokoja by the Chairman, Lectures Planning Committee of the alumni association, Dr. Aurelius Omali.

The lecture which is organized in conjunction with the Geology Department of the University is aimed at creating awareness on the potentials of mining in Kogi state and its potentials as the main business for the state and its neighbours if well harnessed.

The lecture with the theme; ‘Mining in Kogi State: Challenges and Prospects’ is scheduled to commence by 2pm and would be presented by Prof. Nuhu George Obaje, Professor of Geology and Chair Professor for Basinal Studies, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.

The lecture is proposed to be under the Chairmanship of His Royal Highness, Engr. (Dr) Idowu Isenibi, JP, the Bajana of Obajana, the community that houses the largest cement industry in Africa.
