Two persons have been declared missing in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State following last weekend’s renewed hostility in the land dispute between Anambra and Kogi states.
The traditional ruler of Enugwu Aguleri, Eze Chukwuemeka Eri, disclosed this yesterday in his palace when some Igbo leaders, led by the Ogirishi Igbo, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, visited him.
Flanked by his traditional prime minister, Hon. Alex Ogugua; the presidentgeneral of the community, Charles Chiezie and his palace secretary, Dr. Ralph Chikwenze, Eze Eri alleged that the people of Kogi State stormed three Anambra communities Enugwu Otu, Eziagulu Otu and Nkpunando and whisked the victims away as well as set two primary schools ablaze.
The monarch said residents of the three communities are now taking refuge at Anyamelu, Enugwu Aguleri and other neighbouring communities.
He, however, flayed the National Boundary Commission (NBC)’s ability to settle the land matter between the two states, adding that the presence of policemen in the disputed land would not settle the matter.
