“Trumped-up Charges Against Austin Okai Points to High Decadence in Kogi Govt.” – Group

Kogi Patriotic Group has condemned the continued incarceration of the national coordinator of Peoples Democratic Party National Youth Frontier (PDPNYF), Comrade Austin Okai.
The group made this known in a press statement signed by its image maker, Abdulhamid Ibrahim.
According to him, the charges leveled against Okai by Kogi State government has further confirmed their fears on how the business of governance in the state is been badly conducted.
“The trumped-up charges against Austin Okai points to high level decadence in Kogi Government. One wonder at the level of insincerity and abcradabra in the current administration that decided to waste over a billion naira to pacify its political benefactor against the wishes of the people of the state by embarking on a white elephant project like the Revenue House against the advise of EIA assessors but now linking the likely collapse of the structure to a social crusader, Okai.
“Since the inception of the present administration, it solely believes in ceremonies to siphon and launder government fund – from birthdays to naming ceremonies, weddings, wedding anniversaries and marking of 365 empty days of wasteful adventures and promises to Kogites. The anniversary did not attract any sane personality.
“All other charges preferred against Comrade Austin Usman Okai are concocted, pre-arranged, pre-determined and geared towards discouraging him from fighting for the cause of the long-suffering Kogi people.
“The arrest will further spur him and prepare him and his team to further take the bull by the horn by re-strategising with a view to bringing into governance of kogi the good ideal of transparent and accountable leadership which form the core of good governance against the present system of corrupt and translucent style of administration”
