**Desperation hits Yahaya Bello’s camp, as Ballot counting favours Wada…
**Threaten to use thugs to disrupt court proceedings.
Reports coming in from today’s tribunal sitting indicates that Yahaya Bello’s supporters are doing all they can to frustrate proceedings from going ahead based on the ballot papers re-counted overnight.
It would be recalled that yesterday, the presiding Judge adjourned the case to today for the conclusion of ballot counting.
Hon Danladi Akpa was attacked by the thugs imported into Abuja by Yahaya Bello. Akpa’s mobile phones were stolen by these miscreants.
Feelers from the Bello camp were not encouraging going by the ballot papers re-counted overnight, hence the reason for the current disruption of today’s proceedings.
While proceedings were ongoing, thugs imported from Lokoja were shouting down the lawyers and the Judges. This ugly scene led to the judge threatening to abandon the case for threat of life and insecurity.
Eventually the Judge was forced to adjourn the case to 3pm for all parties to conclude ballot counting and also get the Inspector General of Police to provide adequate security at the venue.
As at the time of filing this report, the Yahaya Bello’s supporters are the outside the court premises chanting war songs and also harassing Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and James Faleke’s supporters who attended the earlier proceedings.
In a reaction to the incidence, the Special Adviser to Captain Idris Wada on media, Mr Jacob Edi said:
“It is quite unfortunate and we want to condemn in strongest terms this act of brigandage, irresponsibility and thuggery that has happened today, it is a shame that young men are being trained to engaged in act of brutality especially in a situation where a court session is taking place, its an insult and a disrespect to the laws of this land.
We want to call on the security authorities to ensure that maximum protection is given to people who have business to do at the court, let it be on record that Captain Idris Wada, being a respecter of rule of law was in court today to stay before the judge as a mark of respect for a case that is even being pursued by him, and that is not an offence, for anybody to take on him and want to attack his vehicle. But we want to assure them that this will not deter us and our quest for justice can not be deterred. We believe in the laws of this land, we believe in the rule of law, we believe in the judiciary.
I saw what happened, I saw the young men who attacked the vehicle of CAPT IDRIS WADA, no death casualty, but injuries sustained.”
