Member representing Ogori-Magongo/Okene Federal constituency, Hon. Tijani Damisa has described the late former deputy majority leader, Arc. Buba Jibril as a great politician who was always at home with the grassroots as he was with the elites.
Damisa made this known in his tribute to late Buba Jibril at the valedictory session held in his honour on the floor of the House of Representatives on Wednesday.
He appealed to the House to immortalise Buba by naming a Conference Room after him.
“Hon. Buba’s death is a great lesson to all of us politicians on the need to commit ourselves to God and to the true service of humanity as Hon. Buba clearly demonstrated while he was alive.
“There can be no dearth of tributes for him, so I humbly identify with all the passionate acknowledgements that have been registered to appreciate his life and leadership in this hallowed chamber and beyond.
“With his demise, Kogi State lost a great leader but Nigeria lost a compass. I therefore urge this Honourable House to immortalise him by naming a Conference Room after him.
“With a heavy heart, I say Adieu: Hon. Buba! May his soul rest in peace. My heart, thoughts and prayers are with his family,” he said.
