The names of three best candidates out of 27 jostling for the office of the Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University, Anyigba have been forwarded to the Visitor of the institution.
The outgoing Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University, Professor Hassan S. Isah, who disclosed this while fielding questions from journalists at the Conference Centre of the institution yesterday, said arrangement has been concluded for the Visitor to announce his successor very soon.
Professor Isah explained that the University has satisfied all laid down procedures for the appointment of new vice chancellor, stressing that advertisement was placed in the newspapers.
He stated that 21 candidates initially applied, but the list was enlarged to include six more people when some candidates claimed that they did not see the advertisement.
Isah pointed out that the 27 candidates were subjected to both written, oral interview and public presentation of how to govern as vice chancellor if given opportunity.
The outgoing vice chancellor said, he was never a member of the panel for various stages, noting that after thorough proceedings three best candidates emerged.
“The University management has forwarded the names of the three successful candidates to the visitor of the University and the governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Ichalla Wada to pick one and ratify his appointment as new vice Chancellor.”
