Yes, I had wanted to be on sabbatical, I told my readers and friends that I was going on sabbatical but recent ugly development in my fatherland has forced me out of sabbatical, criminal elements have started again. If you are wondering what I am talking about, I am talking about the power of AK47 in a 21st century community called Ebiraland. Suddenly, victims of AK47 are growing by the day.

This write-up was provoked by this ugly happening in the land, let me inform you that this journalist don’t run away from theaters of war. CNN journalists like Amampour are dishing out hot news items from Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and other hotbeds of modern century theater of wars.

Viewed against this background therefore, I, Otori Ozigi, have decided to come out of self imposed sabbatical to add my voice to the few courageous and patriotic Anebiras at a time like this. If we all keep quiet, animals masquerading as human beings would think they are the only one who owns the land .

Dear readers, let me inform you that I am a direct victim of the power of AK47 in the hands of lowlives living among other decent inhabitants of a land of honour and peaceful coexistence called Ebira nation.

I wish to recall that my own younger brother, Pastor Steve Otaru Siyaka, a beacon of hope and role model, was murdered in cold-blood last year by unknown gun men about two hundred meter away to the gate of his house located in a quiet area of Adavi Eba community. For the first time in my life, I wept like a baby when I saw his lifeless body in a casket before being lowered to the ground. This was a man widely acknowledged as a silent philanthropist par excellence. Now, his eight children would grow up with no images of their great father. That’s the power of AK47 for you.

In recent time, the growing list of victims of the AK47 include the following, the late Yusuf, the custodian of the famed Aneku Sementi, the late Jaguda Chogudo, the custodian of Aneku Arijenu, The late Ohimonozi of kuroko, the late Sheik Abdulazeez of Enyinare, Okene, Late Diyo Ozinaija, Late Engr Kayode and others too numerous to mention. What a 21st century Jungle that we have come to be.

Indeed life in Ebiraland is now short and brutal. If I die in the hands of these criminal elements I have no regret what so ever, the time has come for all of us to stand up and chase them and their sponsors out of our land. All our serving and retired armed forces men, like Gen Salihu Ibrahim, DIG Yusuf, Rtd Colonel Hamza Umar, colonel Isah Ibrahim, colonel Sule Muhammad Zubair, Captain Shehu Hadi Abdulrahim, colonel Ibrahim Isah, Rear Admiral Hamza Sani, Rear Admiral Bajeh, Major Abdullahi Aliyu, Major Enesi, colonel Simpa, AVM Umar Yakubu and others should wake up from their slumber and aloofness and defend the honour and reputation of their fatherland who gave them to the world.

I, Otori Ozigi, a modem day citizen journalist, is ready and prepared to follow these gallant soldiers to chase these criminal elements out of our land. Now that we are approaching general elections, we must all be careful before we witnessed another theater of war.

Our politicians must be made to sign Peace Accord because there is no enough evidence on ground that they are decent and honorable.

Enough is enough.

We shall reclaim our fatherland from the hands of these Animals , I would rather die than to live the life of a coward.
