Kogi Central Forecast Group (KCFG) have kept mum for a while and rather following the activities of the state with keen interest. Alas! It is high time we voice what we have seen so far for the benefit of our dear state and the generation yet unborn.
The emergence of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello late last year was celebrated by vast majority of Kogites. It will be good for us to recall that the death of Prince Abubakar Audu gave room for the whole scenario that brought in the present administration and it is still one mystery that is beyond human comprehension.
Frankly speaking, we ought not to rejoice over the emergence of Alhaji Yahaya Bello because of the death of Audu but due to the agitation for power shift and the hunger of Kogi indigenes for good governance, the people of Central, West and few Easterners celebrated his emergence thinking a new Kogi State was going to surface as promised by the yet to be implemented NEW DIRECTION BLUEPRINT of His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
Today, the 17th of November, 2016 marks His Excellency’s ten (10) months plus some days in office and specifically, KCFG can conclude that His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello is a Visionary Leader but unfortunately, he is surrounded by sycophants, opportunists, money mongers, desperadoes and directionless fellows who enjoys groping in the dark.
His Excellency Sir, KCFG is not pressurizing you negatively against your appointees but am just telling you the plain truth and it is one painful pill you must swallow to help you jerk back to reality as time
is no longer on your side.
The proposed NEW DIRECTION BLUEPRINT can only be achieved if your appointees are ready to change from their present way of life which is reckless, dangerous and with some of them playing the role of a god to the detriment of the entire citizens of Kogi State.
To put the matter straight Sir, the problems of Kogi State cannot be solved by those you have rallied round yourself whose headache is just about their personal interests.
Your Excellency Sir, despite the economic recession, you are the only governor across the country that has not commissioned any project and you are over 10 months old in office but it is very obvious that your appointees are not in any way concerned about this setback as long as they have something to fill their bellies with.
If it takes your government 10 months to conduct screening in the Civil Service, how many months or years will it take you to construct roads and to execute other tangible projects before your first tenure elapses? It is good KCFG opens your eyes to the proverb which says, “if it takes one four solid years to learn madness, how many years will it take the person learning the madness to practise the madness?”
Your Excellency, I have not called you a mad man. God forbid me to do that. The proverb is for those with deep knowledge and understanding and I know you are one of such crop of people.
Your appointees from the State level to the third tier of government which is the Local Governments are only interested in getting married or re-marrying with some celebrating birthdays they have never celebrated since they were born. The juicy appointments given to them have made them to forget the huge responsibilities placed upon them to serve the people.
I feel so much embarrassed each time I think about the activities of this government as there is nothing to hold unto achievement wise rather than marriages, birthday celebrations and some of your aides insulting people at will on social media once the people you are to govern raise an eye brow over any issue they see as disgusting. The problems militating against Kogi State is one that calls for urgent attention rather than gathering to feast using our hard earned tax payers’ money.
Your Excellency, more to the problem you have at present is those you have given appointments to handle your media. How many of them read Mass Communication or Journalism? The media job is not just about writing and speaking English alone. It is one job that you need special hands of those who studied the discipline, those who are objective and not subjective. Those who will allow you to be criticised and even insulted for not doing one thing or the other and yet, they still have a shock absorber not to hit back at the public as they air their opinion about you. Your media team is one that freely insults people on the social media not knowing they are denting your image whereas you sought their services to promote it. Therefore, your media team needs urgent surgery because those in charge are just toying with your image and this will go a long way to affect you.
Conclusively, Your Excellency Sir, you need to mandate your appointees to return back to work and forget about those unnecessary celebrations that has enveloped them. They should be enlightened about governance because governance is beyond marriage and other wanton celebrations. It is your responsibility to urge them to work and celebration to a later day.
