**commends Kogites for their support

Veteran Nollywood actress and former Senior Special Assitant to Kogi state Governor on Entertainment, Tourism and Culture, Hon. Mercy Johnson Okojie has placed the state and her rich cultural heritage om the global map with her new movie, ‘The Legend of Inikpi’. The blockbuster movie set to premier in the cinemas on January 24.

Mrs Okojie, an indigene of Kogi State, took to her Instagram page to appreciate the good people of Kogi state for their unflinching support so far since the announcement of the movie was made.

In a viral video she uploaded on her Instagram page, Mercy Johnson said “we wanted this story to feel as authentic as possible. Filming in my home state was a priority, getting cast that knew and understand the story was key.”

She went further to acknowledge the support she enjoyed so far from the good people of Kogi State and her former employer, Kogi State government.

“I’m humbled for the support, show of love and mostly, I am incredibly proud of the work we have done,” the veteran Kogi born actress stated.

The support of the Kogi State government has been overwhelming especially from the flamboyant deputy governor, Chief Edward Onoja.
Mr Onoja himself has commended the professionalism of the film project as in a viral video where CEDO (as he is fondly called) uploaded by Mercy Johnson Okojie on Thursday via her Instagram handle.

In the video, CEDO was full of praise for the actors for a job well done and also commended the film crew for giving local talents a chance at stardom by featuring those who had excelled in the talent hunt organized by Mercy Johnson in the movie project.

Mrs Okojie concluded by thanking the Kogi State government led by Governor Yahaya Bello and his deputy for their support.
