We are in a difficult time. Indeed a perilous times where alot of people bear titles and even christian names. Some of us even carry the biggest bible to the church but feel emptiness within. In fact, we have mastered the language of revival, built impressive platforms, multiplied conferences, and filled sanctuaries, yet heaven is asking one unbearable question: When the Bridegroom comes, will He find oil in our lamps?

The five foolish virgins were not atheists. They were waiting for the Bridegroom. They had lamps, expectations and religious association, but they lacked preparation. That is the terror of Matthew 25: you can look ready before men and still be unprepared before God. You can buy and wear the most expensive white suit, symbolising a holy child of God without carrying Christ, occupy a pulpit without possessing holiness, sing about heaven while secretly negotiating with sin, and discover the truth only when the door closes.

Billy Graham spent decades warning generations that Christianity cannot be reduced to religious identity while the heart remains unreconciled to God. This is the hour to examine the lamp. Is there oil? Is there repentance behind your testimony? Is there holiness behind your worship? Is there obedience behind your confession? Is Christ truly Lord, or merely an emergency contact for difficult seasons? The greatest deception may be believing that because we once prayed, once wept, once attended church, or once experienced God, we are permanently prepared. Jesus did not say, “Remember when you had oil.” He commanded us to watch.

One day, the midnight cry will interrupt every human agenda. Politicians will have another meeting they cannot finish. Businessmen will have another transaction pending. Families will have another tomorrow planned. Churches will have another programme scheduled. But eternity will not negotiate. The Bridegroom is coming. And when that moment arrives, money cannot purchase oil, connections cannot open the door, titles cannot change the verdict, and religious reputation cannot substitute for genuine salvation. Repent now. Return to Christ now. Wake up now. Keep your lamp burning now. Because when the door is finally shut, there will be no second invitation.
