Supreme Court Judgement: Ohere, Danga, Danfulani Congratulates Kogi Governor

The Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Abdulmumin Danga, has congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello, for his victory at the Supreme Court on Monday, describing it ”as a resounding victory that finally affirmed the Will of the good people of Kogi State”.

The Supreme Court on Monday, affirmed the election of Gov Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, where the apex court, dismissed an appeal by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate, Musa Wada, who challenged the outcome of the gubernatorial election held in the state on November 16, 2019.

A statement by Hon. Danga, on Monday, applauded the seven Justices of the apex court who presided over the case for upholding the will of Kogi electorates in the November 16 gubernatorial election in the state.

The Commissioner noted that the victories of Gov Bello throughout all the judicial processes from the Tribunal to Appeal Court and to the Supreme Court, has once again confirmed that judiciary remained the last hope of the common man.

”This resounding and flawless victory has once again confirmed that the good people of Kogi State are solidly behind His Excellency as he continues to do more,” he said.

Reacting to the judgment, Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Sadiku Ohere said the verdict of the apex court is a victory for democracy and a vindication of the people’s long-drawn struggle for justice, adding that it is also a tiding of good hope for the state.

The commissioner, in a statement he personally signed on Monday, commended Gov. Bello and his Deputy, Edward Onoja for being the custodians of divine mandates which represent the will and aspiration of their people. He thanked the apex court for ensuring that the mandates remain sacrosanct.

He described Governor Bello as “God’s Agenda” for humanity and Nigeria in particular. He also expressed optimism that the state will witness a watershed of drastic progress in the hands of these two dynamic leaders in the days ahead and urged the governor to see his victory as victory of the masses.

In a separate message, a staunch supporter of Governor Bello and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Comrade Danfulani Lukman Ohinoyi called on opposition members to join the Governor in the task of rebuilding the state.

“The Supreme Court verdict has re-affirmed the mandate freely given to Governor Bello by Kogi electorate during the gubernatorial election.
I also wish to congratulate Governor Bello and also commend the judiciary for its demonstration of  boldness and resilience in deepening the country’s democracy through sound judgment.

“Democracy is gradually taking firm roots in the country with the people’s will triumphing over other considerations. This is good for our democracy. It is victory for democracy. This victory is not for the All Progressives Congress (APC) alone. It is a victory for all well meaning Kogites. The people have spoken in clear tone and the judiciary has re-affirmed the will of the people,” he said.
