The appointment of Abdul Karim was approved by Wife of the Kogi State governor, Barrister Amina Bello.
Barrister Bello had accepted to be the chairperson of the project in the state which is meant to target about 10,800 children and youths in six communities in the state including Ogidi where the late senior Police Officer hailed from.
Bada is the first citizen of Kogi state to make an Olympic gold medal where as a member of the 4x400metres relay team made the gold medal of the Sydney Olympics.
The news of the choice and appointment of Abdul Karim has started to yield reaction with Engineer (Dr) Lawal Lasisi, the Assistant General Manager in charge of Satellite Applications and Development at the Nigerian Communication Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) said, “his appointment is a very worthy one. It is a very appropriate appointment.”
Abdul Karim had been working himself hoarse over the years to ensure that our children and youths have no business with crime and criminality.
Welcoming Dr Lasisi to the office during the visit, five time Olympian, Chief Mary Onyali thanked the governor’s wife for a very wonderful choice in Abdul Karim. She called on the citizens of the state to rise, identify with their late brother and raise a new generation of new kids on the bloc.
