Senate Committee Chairman on Federal Capital Territory, Senator Smart Adeyemi, is still hopeful that his friend, Alhaji Isah Jubrin Echocho, will eventually run on the platform Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the governorship candidate.
It will be recalled that Smart Adeyemi led other Kogi State representatives at the National Assembly, including Ibro’s son, Mohammed, to the governor to champion the cause of Echocho.
There is a rumoured agreement between Echocho and Smart which will ensure a smooth ride for Smart Adeyemi come 2015 when he will be seeking a record third term in the Senate.
Though the winner of the re-scheduled PDP governorship prmaries, Captain Idris Wada, and his running mate, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi, have started moving their campaign trains around the state seeking traditional ruler’s blessings, prominent members of PDP in Kogi State are working round the clock to upturn his victory.
The winner of the primaries held in January, Jubrin Isah Echocho, is in court to reclaim his mandate and the unusual confidence from Echocho’s camp is not a good sign for Wada and his team.
Smart Adeyemi has been silent since the last primaries that produced Wada. His group are keeping their game plans close to their chest.
