The need for Executive and Legislative harmony in moving the State forward has once again being advocated by Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi.
Yomi Awoniyi, the Deputy Governor stressed the need for a cordial working relationship that will help uplift the people’s standard of living when he received a delegation of some Council Chairmen from West Senatorial District of the State, led by Senator Smart Adeyemi, representing the district in the National Assembly.
Awoniyi, said Governor Idris Wada is a leader whose passion for uplifting the living standard of people of the State, remains unrivaled, however said the Governor’s good intention can be made much more easy through collectively working with the legislators at the National Assembly.
The Deputy Governor commended Senator Smart Adeyemi’s contribution to making the Kabba – Ilorin road recently awarded by the Federal Government motorable, said efforts to increase budgetary allocation for the road in the next year’s budget should occupy the front burner of the Senator’s representation.
Awoniyi, described the Senator as a man who has distinguished himself in conduct as for as the assignment given to him to represent his people is concerned, lauded his passion for the people of his district and also commended his personal sacrifices in ensuring that people of his districts are economically empowered.
Earlier in his remarks, Senator Smart Adeyemi disclosed that the courtesy visit was aimed at seeking ways that will improve issues that bothers on working to improve standard of living of people and how to work collectively towards the victory of the party at all levels of election for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led administration in the State.
Senator Smart Adeyemi, commended the ensuring peace and stability in the State, despite the State’s diversity and location. He praised the Capt. Wada’s administration for making security of lives of its citizens a priority.
The Senator also noted that Capt. Wada has succeeded in moving the State forward from where he met it. He particularly praised the giant strides recorded by the Governor Wada administration in the Agricultural sector and in the creation of youth employment. Senator Adeyemi described the number of investors the State has attracted as encouraging, disclosing that it is the bedrock upon which the living standard of the people can be improved upon.
Senator Smart Adeyemi, commended the cordial working relationship existing between the Governor and his Deputy, said it is only in an atmosphere of unity and oneness that objectives set by the administration can be attained.
The visit was also attended by Hon. Sunday Karimi, member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
