Single Register: Gov. Bello Commends Kogi YESSO

Governor Yahaya Bello has commended the Kogi State Youth Employment and Social Support Operation (YESSO) for maintaining the lead among the YESSO states in Nigeria.

 

Governor Bello gave the commendation while declaring open the refresher step-down training of the CBT teams and enumerators from the seven local governments in the second cycle of community-based targeting to the expand the established single register in Kogi state.

 

Represented by his Special Adviser on Multi-lateral, Donor Agencies and Special Projects, Hon. Ibrahim Adoga, Governor Bello assured the World Bank and the office of the Vice President of Nigeria that his government is committed to initiatives targeted at the core poor and vulnerable in Kogi State.

 

He charged the enumerators to abide by agreed guidelines and further instructions that given in the course of the refresher training.

 

The Project Coordinator, Mr. Noah Alilu explained that Kogi YESSO has built a veritable world-class Single Register, a robust database of poor, unemployed and vulnerable persons in the state.

 

He disclosed that Kogi YESSO has mined accurate data in 630 out of over 2000 communities in the state. He explained that the database which covered 30 communities in each of the twenty one local governments in Kogi State covered about 22,240 households that are currently benefiting from the Federal Government’s Condition.

 

He said the Single Register is a veritable launch pad for effective and result-oriented empowerment programmes.
