“Whatever God has ordained, no human and no conspiracy can change it. This applies to our God ordained governor, Alhaji, Ododo Ahmed Usman, who the Almighty God has bless Kogi state with at this time”.
These are the words of Engr. (Chief) Silvanus Elewa, the Mayegun of Amuroland and one of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State, in a statement on the victory of Governor Ododo, which was delivered by the Supreme Court on Friday, August 22, 2024.
He said the victory of the governor in all the courts where the election case was taken to, is a demonstration of the fact that the November 11, 2024 election in the state was legitimately won by Ododo.
Elewa, who was the Secretary of the Venue and Protocol Committee of the Ododo Campaign Council for the November 2023 governorship election in Kogi State, said that the APC has demonstrated its ability to address issues facing Nigeria as being witnessed by the life transforming measures of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, therefore all Kogi people must rise up to support Governor Ododo as he has put behind him all the legal issues and encumbrances, to focus on the development of the state.
“I want to congratulate Governor Ododo over this victory. It is not a victory for him alone but all the lovers of democracy and Kogi state at large. This has demonstrated that, Governor Ododo is a God chosen one for us at this time in the state.
“Those who are bent on distracting him have been shamed and I want to call on our Governor to continue the wonderful work he has been doing in touching lives and delivering of the democracy dividends to all the Kogi people.
“I want to call on all our people particularly, of the Okun extraction, to continue to support Governor Ododo, so that he can succeed in his effort to transform the state. He needs all our support now more than ever and we must give him so that he can continue the life transforming efforts he is making”, Elewa said.
In the same manner, Elewa has canvassed support for the ambition of Hon. Ademola Bello (Destiny), the Chairmanship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Mopamuro Local Government Area got a boost at the weekend, as one the key stakeholders of the party in the local government.
Elewa called on the people of the local government, to throw their support behind Ademola, saying that the local government must key behind the choice of the APC in the October local government election in the state.
“I want to appeal to our people to demonstrate and show support for the candidate of our party, Hon. Ademola Bello (Destiny). He has shown capacity, commitment and dedication to governance for the short period that he served as the Caretaker Committee Chairman of our local government”.
The Chairman of Teramo Foundation also said: “As the choice of our party, we must rally round him and give him all the support he needs. In supporting him, we are also supporting our governor, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman, who has found him worthy as the candidate.
“Our support for him will compliment the transformation works of Governor Ododo, in bringing the dividends of democracy to our people at the grassroots level.
“Supporting him is also supporting President Tinubu and governor Ododo, two great leaders of our party, who are taking bold and life transforming policies, that will propel our nation and state into greatness.
“Hon. Ademola Bello represented us as a Member of the House of Assembly and he did not disappoint us. I also believe that he will build on the achievements he recorded while in the House if voted as the Chairman of our local government.
“I want to call on all our supporters to rally round our candidate. We must show commitment and demonstrate that we support the choice of our party, the APC, during the election”, Elewa said.
He also called on party leaders, Elders, and stakeholders in the local government to give the needed support to Ademola Bello and the party so that he can triumph in the election.
