The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatoral district, Ahmed Ogembe, has described the late Sen Salihu Ohize as a patriot who committed his life to the service of humanity especially the people of Ebira land.
Ogembe stated this at the occasion of the 8-days Fidau prayers held at the residence of the late Ohize at GRA Okene on Sunday.
Senator Ogembe, who joined other sympathisers to pray for the deceased, recalled the giant strides of Ohize both as the chairman of Okene local government and as a senator of the 6th Assembly.
“My late mentor and big brother, Senator Salihu Ohize, was a great patriot who dedicated his life to the service of Ebira nation and Nigeria at large, he also did his best while in the Nigeria army and as a politician.
“His selfless service and total commitment to the course of his people and the entire Kogi State will be greatly missed, and always be remembered for his great achievements.
“We can only pray that God grant him peaceful repose and bless the family he left behind,” Ogembe said.
He called on the people of the area to find solace in the fact that the late Ohize lived a fulfilled life and prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed senator.
Senator Salihu Ohize, died on Sunday 30th October 2016 at the National hospital after an undisclosed illness.
