Senator Isah Jibrin, representing Kogi East (Echocho), has attributed the improved performance of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing the sustained backing from the presidency as central to the Service’s recent transformation.
Speaking on the final day of a legislative retreat and oversight engagement with the Nigeria Customs Service, Senator Jibrin said the remarkable changes being witnessed within the Service would not have been possible without President Tinubu’s continued support and commitment, particularly through the provision of adequate funding.
He noted that the administration’s investment in the NCS has strengthened its operational capacity, resulting in greater efficiency and improved service delivery across the board.
The lawmaker commended President Tinubu for giving the Service the attention and resources needed to reposition its operations, describing the results so far as impressive.
Senator Jibrin also praised the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, for what he called visionary and transformational leadership that has repositioned the NCS as a more efficient, innovative, and results-driven institution.
Addressing participants at the close of the retreat, he charged all senators who took part in the oversight exercise to see themselves as ambassadors of the Nigeria Customs Service, urging them to continue supporting and promoting the Service’s achievements in their legislative work and public engagements.
He rounded off his remarks by congratulating the management and staff of the NCS for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to duty, describing their accomplishments as commendable and wishing the Service continued success in advancing its mandate.
