The All Progressive Congress(APC) candidate for the Kogi Central senatorial district, Engr. Abubakar Ohere has vowed to prioritize means by which lives and livelihood of the masses will be enhanced, when voted as a Senator in the 2023 general election.

Engr. Ohere stated this while addressing different groups and associations during his campaign tour in Okengwe.

He said if given the mandate, he would, through legislations, influence policies that would have direct impact on the masses as well as effective use of constituency projects to their benefit.

“If elected, reflecting on their needs and mandate will be my key responsibility.

“I promised to compliment efforts of the state government led by Gov. Yahaya Bello in the areas of health, education, roads, agriculture, infrastructures, human capital development among others for the benefit of the people in my senatorial zone, especially the masses.

“I will contribute in the efforts to boost the industrial and agro base economy of Kogi State for the benefit of the people,” he said.

According to him, he has been close to the masses before joining politics as a new breed, as such conversant with their challenges, emphasizing that he was doing a lot to assuage the problems.

“I am very close to them and they are very much closer to me. I know their problems. Nothing, no pressure will separate me from the grassroots, people and the masses. I am for them and they are for me. When I get to the Red Chamber, the only new thing is making laws that will impact on our people.

“I am a new breed in politics. I have never been there but as a two term commissioner under Gov. Yahaya Bello, I have carried out thousands of projects that those who I am competing with have not done even a quarter. I am coming up with something unique. People in Kogi Central are eager to see me in the Red Chamber.

“Much earlier, through my outreach, I instituted a scholarship programme for over 1,500 youths across Kogi State, and we are equally planning for more people to be included in the scholarship programme.

” I also did interventions in the health sector, as I have paid for more than 200 patients with different ailments across Kogi State. Plans are also on to create awareness on how to prevent Kidney diseases in the state, including taking healthcare to all nooks and cranies of the state through the Primary Health care system,” Ohere said.

He expressed optimism of winning the 2023 election, stressing that campaign across the 5 LGAs and wards in the senatorial zone are already ongoing and we’ll reach more grassroots to tell the masses about our plans and manifestos.

“We’ve already hit the ground running for the 2023 election. We will carpet down everybody,” he said.

Kogi Central senatorial district has one of the largest steel in in the world, and as a solid and mining engineer by profession, I will use my wealth of experience and connection to lure the Federal government into the resuscitation of Ajaokuta steel company if elected.
