Security in Kogi; Gov. Bello Commend Okene Administrator

Kogi State Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello has commended the efforts of the Administrator of Okene Local Government, Hon. Abdulrazaq Muhammad for maintaining peace and tranquility in his domain.

He said, despite the lean resources available to government, the Administrator was able to take full responsibility of the security situation of his Local government and today the people are living in a peaceful and harmony.

The Governor made the remark on Tuesday in Lokoja at a security meeting with traditional rulers, farmers, Fulani herdsmen and heads of security agencies in the wake of recent killings in some part of the state.

The governor equally commended the Administrators of Okehi and Lokoja Local government areas for their prompt actions in the business of protection lives and property of the people which he said, is the number one priority of government.

On the issue of Imamship in Kogi Central, Gov. Bello thanked all the stakeholders for their efforts in maintaining peace and order but insisted that the situation is still tense, therefore, he urged all parties to sheath their sword pending when a substantive Chief Imam will be appointed in the nearest future.
