A frontline politician from Kogi East senatorial district and chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Hon Sani Idakwo Philips has condemned in strong terms the recent abduction of the PDP Chairman of Okene Local Government, Musa Adelabu.
Idakwo who spoke to newsmen after a brief meeting with some notable politicians in Lokoja the Kogi state capital, on Saturday, described the news as “shocking, unfortunate and an attack too many on the opposition.”
Idakwo stated that the time has come for all well meaning politician in the state irrespective of political affiliation as regards to party differences to unite against political vendetta, intimidation and violence.
Idakwo decried the spate of political intolerance currently ravaging the state and calls for the immediate and unconditional release of the chairman from his abductors, while urging the security agencies to be alive to their responsibilities of securing lives and properties in the state before, during and after the November 16 gubernatorial elections in the state.
