The 346 staff of the Kogi state government sacked in 2008 had dragged the state government before High court after they were sacked during the screening exercise instituted by former governor Ibrahim Idris, saying they were illegally sacked.The High Court in 2012 held that they were illegally sacked and ordered that the 346 civil servants be reinstated and paid their salaries till date which the government declined.
But the civil servants through their counsel, Barrister John went back to the court seeking an order to compel the state government to complied with the order but the state later appealed against the judgment at the Appeal Court in Abuja.
At the hearing yesterday, the counsel to plaintiff, Barrister John Barry told the court that the Appeal Court will hear the case on January 21, and seek adjournment to prepare as well knowing the out come of the hearing.
Justice Sunday Otu however adjourned the case to March 28, for continue hearing.
In a related development,alleged forgery case between the Commissioner of Police and the Secretary of Ankpa Local government Area of the Alhaji Husseni Ahmed Abdullahi has been adjourned till the 27/2/2014.
Abdullahi has been dragged before the Chief Magistrate 1 sitting in Lokoja, to answer some questions pertaining to his Certificate.
It was gathered that since commencement of trial since last year June and the court has issued of a bench warrant to appear in Court.
