Some people go into politics because they want power, fame and fortune. These they achieve using any means available to them. Aside trampling on the rights and privileges of the people, they embezzle what should ordinarily have been for the masses. These crop of politicians have their personal agenda different from what the world thinks and hopes for.
When Hon. Hassan was born many years ago, his parents prayed for him to be successful and make impact in his generation. But they did not know that their son would one day emerge as the deputy speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, and would be helpful to humanity.
Today, nature has smiled on you, Rt. Hassan Abdullahi and you are breaking new grounds by embarking on developmental projects in all the wards in Dekina Local Government Area.
A few politicians ride on the crest of people’s mandate to attain positions of power. These set of politicians succeed because they go into politics as a result of pain in their heart on the social malaise engendered by miscalculated political priority of bad politicians. They want to make a change and make life meaningful for the people that make them succeed. We call these politicians godly philanthropists because they have the opportunity to enrich themselves, but yet choose to align themselves with the people and make life meaningful to them. It is in this class of people of honour and integrity that Hon. Hassan Abdullahi holds a pride of place. He is a beacon of hope Dekina Local Government, Igalaland, Kogi East, Kogi State and to Nigeria at large.
Aside making laws that have formative effect on the people of the state and his constituencies in particular, this giant politician has been helpful to the people and families he does not even know from his little earnings. He feels obligated to help because he feels anyone can rise tomorrow into position of authorities. He therefore grooms future leaders by empowering them not just to be artisans and self-reliant, but also to get quality education that will be helpful to society. Testimonies abound as to the number of people that have benefitted from him. Many students of secondary schools who found it hard to pay their SSCE and purchase their JAMB forms are proud students of institutions of higher learning in Nigeria today. Even his world class last empowerment in anyigba is still very fresh in our memories.
Although our silent achiever prefers to do his work in secret so that God who sees what good work is done in secret will reward him, exposing his philanthropic gesture to the world is imperative. Leaving it unsaid is simply unwise. Rt. Hon. Hassan Abdullahi forbids people to sing his praise, I must break this protocol to let the world know that Rt. Hon. Hassan Abdullahi deserves so many crowns of honour as he moved ahead in his next political future.
I want to urge you not to relent on this good work, for posterity will never forget your kind gesture.
– Comrade Peter Ugbedeojo Nelson.
