RMAFC Federal Commissioner Lauds Governor Bello’s Landmark Achievements in 8 Years

A Federal Commissioner representing Kogi State at the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Hon. Abdulazeez Idris King has commended the State Governor ,Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his giant strides in the provision of laudable projects and adequate security for the people in the last eight years of his administration.

Idris King a former House of Representative member who represented Okene/Ogori-Magongo federal constituency gave the commendation in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Wednesday.

The Federal Commissioner said the numerous achievements of His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello were physical to see, noting that Kogi State since it’s creation in 1991 has never witness a monumental development like this current administration.

While listing some of the remarkable achievements, Idris King said Governor Bello’s effort in the provision of infrastructure has pave ways for construction of the first flyover at popular Ganaja junction which he said had ended the incessant gridlock in the area.

He pointed out that Governor Bello’s security approach has made the state to be the most safest in the entire north central.

“His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello in the last eight years has constructed many roads across the three senatorial districts of the state.

“Under his leadership, Kogi state has recorded substantial achievements in security, roads construction, agriculture, rural electrification, provision of portable water, agriculture, youth and women empowerment, civil service reform and many more have earned him awards both locally and nationally.

“His commitment in financial transparency and accountability since he came on board in 2016 has also earned him accolades by the World Bankโ€™s Statesโ€™ Financial Transparency, Accountability, and Sustainability (SFTAS) index” Hon. Idris King stated.

Speaking on Governor Bello’s stride in education , the Federal Commissioner said “In the education sector , the Governor made his landmark achievement in the upliftment of basic education as virtually all primary and secondary abandoned for many years by previous administrations were rehabilitated and new ones constructed.

“The flagship of Governor Belloโ€™s achievements in education is the establishment of a two new state universities in his second tenure in office.
The first is Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara in Kogi-central which commenced academic work in 2020 while the Kogi State University, KSU, Kabba was established at the last quarter of 2023 and new students have been matriculated to commence academic activities.

“He went further to also established GYB Model secondary Schools across the three constituencies in the state. The schools are finished to taste and stocked with state-of-the-art teaching facilities, furniture, tiles, air conditioners and computers.

“Governor Bello not satisfied with the sorry state of other tertiary institutions, embarked on massive renovation of structures at Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyigba, Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, College of Nurse Obangede, School of Health Technology Idah, College of Education Ankpa among others. The renovation exercise have since completed and it has gave facelift to the institutions of higher learning in Kogi state.

“Governor Bello just few days ago procured JAMB forms for 15,033 students of public schools across the state aside WAEC and NECO fees he has been paying to assist parents and guidance in the state”
The Federal Commissioner said.

Hon. Idris King who was full of praises to Governor Yahaya Bello for fulfilling his electioneering campaign promises to the people of Kogi State , stated that his focus in health sector has no rival when compare to previous government.

The former lawmaker said “His landmark achievements in the area of health especially the establishment of world class Reference Hospital in Okene the headquarters of Central Senatorial District equipped with state-of-the-art equipment endeared him to many stakeholders and even the naysayers who have never seen anything good in his administration.

“The 300-bed capacity hospital which has been completed and now operational has commenced services to humanity.

“Despite his lone voice on the issue of Covid-19 pandemic of 2019/2020 era down to 2021, Governor Bello paid attention to medical facilities as the Specialist Hospital in Lokoja which was established by former Governor Ibrahim Idris was rehabilitated, upgraded and expanded to serve the health need of the people.

“In addition, Governor Bello also constructed, completed and put in use Specialist Hospitals in four other towns including Gegu Beki in Kogi local government, Ajaokuta, Dekina and Isanlu, Yagba East local government areas. This is aside the Primary Health Centres that were rehabilitated in more than 80 communities.
The governor in the recent past procured and distributed 25 brand new ambulances to several hospitals in the state” he added.

He noted that Governor Bello has done well and has set a good foundation for the incoming administration of His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to follow and his ability to consolidate on those aforementioned achievements will definitely take Kogi State to another level of economic and infrastructure development.
