Politics is a game of number and that is no news. To be a successful politician, particularly in the Nigerian murky political waters, you must be accepted by the people, especially at the grassroots. It has been observed that in politics there is no permanent foe or friend but interest. When the majority waves their olive branch to you, the sky could be the stepping stone but not the limit.
This is the case of Zacch Jonathan, a registered land surveyor who has been involved in construction industry, oil and education sector of Nigeria economy. He lectured in Kaduna state polytechnic from where he moved to western geographical and American oil and servicing company where he work as seismic surveyor. He is currently the National president of administrative College of Nigeria.
His journey into political fame was no doubt a game of favourable winning chances being a man with rooted grassroots ideology politics, someday his good name will be placed in the archives of Kogi state, that a man has come to change the course of history for the good people of Lokoja-Koto Federal constituency.
His humble background, was a beginning that made him to trekked through the wilderness of life, walked the desert way like the Biblical Moses and gained the experience of loyal servant, faithful to carried the mandate of the people (God) to the promise land. The Man Zacch Jonathan has walked the hard way, the lonely way and the only way to Victory. Zacch was the founding chairman of Action Democratic Congress (ADC) In kogi 2007 aspired to serve the people of on the platform but intrigues and chicaneries prevented the noble ambition. As nature smiles at, he was taken to the Nation’s capital where he is working.
After a decade and still counting, the pressure for the grassroots politician to yield to call of the youths from his federal constituency to serve them in the green chamber is still mounting, youths from Lokoja-Koto, under the aegis of Youth Action for Peace Development in Nigeria (YAPDIN), is one of the groups.
There is school of thought asserted by many that says “Leaders are born” – Meaning servant have come to deliver Service of goodness to mankind. It is an assertion with an infallible mark of truth in the personality of Honourable Zacch Jonathan, candidate to represent the people that are mostly refer to as the ”David”, Men with the sling of war.
This and Many more, one can comfortable say Zacch is a servant for the old, a servant for the young, a servant for Women and Youths, a servant that master the mastery work of stewardship to all. Who goes about doing good humanitarian acts and skills who avail himself to serve. His mandate Will be well kept, nurtured and breed to a people focused, now is being appreciated by many elders of Lokoja Koto that Zacch is really a child of necessity who come to liberate, deliver and become a freedom fighter of his people.
In 2007 it was an availing moment by him but in 2019 project , it is a calling by his people to go for them. Like the popular adage that says” the voice of Men is the voice of God”. The 2019 is the people’s (God’s) voice that says ‘Zacch come let me send you to the people of Lokoja-Koto.
Few months back, I heard it was a “road closed” as the party stakeholders, Youths, women irrespective of party affiliation thronged the office of the party in purchased of nomination and expression of interest forms in an effort to give Mr Zacch Jonathan a clarion call to go as lawmaker to consolidate the giants strides of legislative duties.
The voice of the people of Lokoja-Koto has been voiced out, call according to some of the people is a must answer call that they cannot accept any excuse from him.
Mubaraq, who calls himself a youth activist was one of the strong voices that stormed the party office in support and solidarity of Zacch Jonathan.
“The records of Jonathan’s humanitarian achievements are crystal clear to even the blind and deaf of our land, everyone of us can smell it, feel it and see the magnitude of his projects and the impact. We gathered our money this time around to give him all the needed support to continue the good representation for us,” he said.
In honour to him the mammoth crowd took the forms to his House for onward submission. But only for Zacch to decked himself in tears seeing the calibre of the people stormed his House for believing in his style of humanitarian service to them.
On submitting the forms, at the party office where Zacch personally took the it, he narrates story of success of his aspiration as an omen of a celebrated welcome back of a child of destiny whose is a predestinated plant of God to come back.
According to Zacch that he have every reason to say God has been too good to him over his political journey, his words of thanks are so immeasurable to God and his supporters, most especially his Party stakeholders who are his backbone of defense.
He reiterated his staunch commitment to do much more human angle representation than a mere political gimmicks in the House.
“I can’t turn down the voices of my people, they represent God,I think is equally nice to say God has called me for bigger assignment for His people in 2019,” he said.
