Repair of Kabba Bridge, Wada Thanks FG

Kogi State Government has expressed it gratitude to the Federal Government on the on-going repair of the Kabba bridge that was at the verge of collapse.

Capt Idris Wada, the State Governor lauded the Federal Government’s effort when he inspected the extent of repairs already carried out on the bridge.

Represented by his Deputy,Yomi Awoniyi, said movement to and fro four Local Government Areas in the state and access to Ilorin the Kwara state capital would have been hindered if the bridge had collapsed.

He described the intervention by the federal Government,through the Federal Road Maintenance Agency and the Federal Ministry of Works as timely.

The State Governor who commended the contractor for quality work done so far,solicited increased funding and speedy completion of work on the bridge before the commencement of the rains.

The Governor described the Kabba-Egbe-Ilorin road as vital to improving the socio economic activities of the nation, appealed to the Federal Government for the umpteenth time on the need for the  reconstruction of the roads in view of the hard ship the road has inflicted on the people.

Capt Wada,maintained that the Kabba-Ilorin road constructed about 40 years ago needs reconstruction,solicited Federal Government’s assistance to reduce the sufferings been faced by the people of the area as well as commuters.

Wada commended the transformation agenda of the Federal Government under the leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan in making sure that Nigerian roads are motor able as worthy of commendation.

The Kabba bridge Wada explained was caving in and threatened by erosion at the inception of his administration, however disclosed that his passionate appeal to the Federal Government received attention, thus culminating into the award and repair of the bridge
