Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, has debunked the alleged invasion of the institution by kidnappers.

He described the insinuation as fake, malicious and unfounded.

The Rector made the rebuttal in a statement on Thursday in Lokoja against the backdrop of peddled rumours of security breach in the polytechnic.

He said, “The attention of the Management of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has been drawn to the malicious rumour making the rounds that kidnappers have invaded the institution.

“The rumour is not only unfounded, but it is also an imagination from the pit of hell.

“Both campuses of the Polytechnic in Lokoja and Itakpe are calm and peaceful as staff and students are having the best of the moment after the usual academic activities for the day.”

The Rector assured parents, guardians and other stakeholders that the Polytechnic Management, with the active support of Kogi State Government is fully in charge of the security apparatus of the institution.

Dr Ogbo Usman, therefore, urged them to discard the unwarranted and malicious rumour of security breach being peddled by “failed detractors.”
