The politics of recalling Senator Dino Melaye from the national assembly is about to get messy as the embattled lawmaker is ready to fight back.
Melaye, today, show intent at reviving a case of fraud purportedly committed by Edward Onoja, the Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.
The alleged fraud case against Onoja was investigated by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2011. The fraud allegation bothers on financial activities of Olamaboro local government council (Onoja’s local government) believed to have been promoted by Onoja who was a staff of Guarantee Trust Bank (GTbank) at the period.
The rumour is rife within the state that Onoja left GTbank because of his involvement in shady transactions. Melaye is obviously banking on this in his new offensive.
The Senator pledged to re-open the fraud case with a presentation on the floor of the senate.
