I was been frugal not to allow this needless misrepresentation of Kogi East senator, Atai Aidoko Ali to continue unabated, so as not to degenerate into unnecessary intra-party squabbles in the newly reformed PDP, but the quantum of damages against the political profile of the ranking senator will be justified, if the misleading and politically motivated impression is not redressed.
Kogi East senator was elected to represent the good people of the area and as part of his assignment is to legislate and impact on the people of his constituency and Nigerians, but for obvious reasons his ascension was proclaimed by the courts having satisfied the provisions of the law beyond reasonable doubts.
In spite of the legal distractions,it is already in the public domain,that senator Aidoko in the last 16 months had presented six bills and moved several motions and contributions to issues of national importance, the recent one was the killing of a female youth corps member by the Police in Abuja and several others.
It is on record that some of the senators who were not even first timers, have on different fora with their constituents apologised for their inability to present even a single bill as against 16 months stewardship of Kogi East senator shrouded in legal crises with outstanding performance.
To avoid continuous misrepresentation of Senator Atai Aidoko Ali in the 8th senate, over 36 projects which include water, light, hospitals, skills acquisition centres and other pressing issues have been provided and at various stages of completion in the nine local government areas in Kogi East.
In fact, the completion of extension of electricity from Onitcha-igo junction to Ugbamaka Iga and it’s environs worth 60 million naira is under construction and will soon be commissioned to the glory of God.
The economic, social and political implications of this singular efforts of the senator can not be over emphasised as the entire local government and by extension the neighbouring ones will enjoy the 66KVA line been extended by the senator.
The problem of pipe borne water and other essentials mentioned in the early part of the article was a misinformed stance, as the senator had overcome the natural phenomenon of bad texture through provision of engine powered motorised borehole in Ugbamaka Iga, Okpo, Imane and other adjoining communities.
Let me also correct the misconceptions that empowerment items like tricycles, motorcycles, generators, dryers and other equipment are not stocked in the Senators house for 2019 campaigns. These items are meant for the electorates empowerment and engagements, as soon as plans for its distribution and commissioning are concluded. So, the erroneous impression was misplaced.But alas,this items have been confirmed to be available by the writer as part of constituency project.
Already, communities in Imane, Ankpa, Emmekutu, Anyigba, Idah, Abejukolo, Dekina and others have inundated the Senator’s office in gratitude for the provision of social infrastructural development meant to better the welfare of the masses in this areas.
Though, to further expose the incompetence and emotion of the writer, he never saw anything good in Senator Aidoko in terms of development, underscoring that development is a continuous exercise and resorted to highlighting the political decision of the senator, while other legislators have settled down to deploy necessary machinery to arrest the dearth of social services to their communities.
Of what importance is the contest for next election, panacea to seeking for social safety nets to the people? His retort was proper and not a corollary and solutions to the self inflicted problems of the people by the government in the state.
If democracy and democratic process thrive without the rule of law, then it is a testament of continuous hatchet job by political opponents sponsored to make vague input by making prejudicial statements that democracy abhors. Pre-election matters runs through the highest court in the land and Kogi East is not an exception. It is still the project of continuous misinformation to aver that Kogi East senator scuttled the judicial process to his favour as the matter is still at the Appeal court for determination.
Senator Atai Aidoko Ali had been part and parcel of his colleagues’ decisions to ensure robust legislation, agitation and programs that will place Kogi East, Kogi state and the entire country at vantage position in the area of decision making, a pointer to the lingering moribund Ajaokuta steel company and the crises of oil producing area between Kogi and Anambra States as well as midwife the inhuman treatment of ETA Zuma extraction company of coal at Okaba, Odagbo, Odogomu part of Kogi East.
It is not a new thing to bring up machineries and mercenaries to run down perceived competitor like Kogi East senator, especially with his rising political profile. Nonetheless, there is no hassles as the senator is still much in the race, come rain, come shine. It is now left for the other co-contestants, particularly the writer’s sponsors, to prepare their minds ahead of the forthcoming PDP primaries.
