Our attention has been drawn to the highly vexatious hatchet write-up by one of the paid cronies of Jerry Omodara against a hero of Bunuland, Hon Duro Meseko who God used to free Bunu from political slavery and who is still paying the personal price on behalf of Bunu till date.
In the the write-up authored by one Comrade Joshua Idowu Obatile, he accused Hon Meseko of trying to usurp the chances of Wemi Jones in the House of Reps race, of being desperate to go back to House of Reps and of throwing jabs at Omodara in the presence of His Excellency, GYB during a recent meeting.
The writer also proved himself not as an omoluabi of Bunuland but a product of gutter politics by raining insults on Hon Meseko accusing him of importing OPC into Kabba/Bunu to unleash mayhem on the people during his tenure in the House of Reps.
He concluded by lambasting Hon Meseko for having the temerity to aspire for House of Reps against his paymaster, Wemi Jones!
We hereby make the following assertions:
1. That Hon Duro Meseko has a right to aspire to any political office like any other Nigerian
2. That no amount of insult and name calling will deter Hon Duro Meseko from exercising his fundamental rights to contest election.
3. That the writer goofed when he said Hon Meseko took jabs at Omodara before the Governor(whatever that means).
4. That the truth is that The Speaker, Prince Kolawole, Omodara and Hon Meseko were with the Governor and the Governor said the type of candidate he preferred from Bunu is the one with past legislative experience. That you cannot buy legislative experience from the market. The meeting was private and it must have bn leaked by one of those at the meeting who is apparently very desperate. There was no record of any jab thrown at anybody in the mtg from reports.
5. The writer in his verbal diarrhoea posited that Hon Meseko imported OPC to the LGA to unleash mayhem on the pple during his tenure but nothing could be farther from the truth.
6. Truth is Hon Meseko stood vehemently on the side of truth and justice after one of the most illustrious Bunu sons, Chief Philip Olorunnipa was brutally assassinated. May his soul rest in peace.
7. Truth is the reactionary elements who collaborated with the killers are still on the prowl till date and are bent on denting the glowing image of Hon Meseko. They would never see any good in him. Rather, they would want to do anything to bring him down. God forbid!
7. Truth is Hon Meseko if anything has fought all his political career to restore back the dignity of Bunu pple, the outcome of which Wemi Jones is trying to reap from today. Therefore, Hon Meseko remains a hero that should be celebrated in Bunu today and not vilified by those who know nothing about our political evolution.
8. Truth is Hon Meseko has never been desperate and will never be desperate for any position in life and this could be testified to from his political antecedents of always standing on the side of truth and justice, not on the side of monetary gains. The records are there.
9. Truth is Hon Meseko loves Bunu dearly and would not do anything to jeopardise the chances of Bunu in this race for House of Reps rather his presence in the race is a boost to Bunu chances as he is extremely popular politically and has extensive political structure already in place. He needs no introduction to voters in Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu like the new comers.
10. Hon Meseko has been encouraged to contest by the Governor who emphasised again in the presence of Omodara that he wanted “an experienced legislative hand” to pick the ticket from Bunu.
11. Truth is name calling, insults, and blackmail would never help anybody. If the writer is so sure of the chances of Wemi Jones in the upcoming primary elections, why is he panicking? Why is he busy insulting people up and down? Or is he telling Bunu people that Wemi Jones intend to win his election through guile, blackmail and hatchet write-ups on social media platforms?
Hon Meseko is fully convinced that the zoning of the House of Reps position to Bunu by the APC is a huge blessing and honour that would not be frittered away. Wemi Jones should brace up for the contest and let his camp stop all these infantile rubbish they spew out to blackmail Hon Meseko.
