The leadership of the organized Labour in Kogi has congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello and his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja on their victory in the November 16th election.
A statement by the chairman of the Kogi state council of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Onuh Edoka and his Trade Union Congress (TUC) counterpart, Comrade Ranti Ojo said the mandate renewal for the governor and his deputy should be seen as an opportunity for them to work for an enduring legacy for the people.
They urged the governor to prioritize the welfare of civil servants in the new dispensation as they promise the continued support and loyalty of the entire workforce to the government.
The statement urged politicians who are aggrieved by the outcome of the elections to use the civilized ways of seeking redress and refrain from acts capable of breaching the peace of the state.
The organized Labour commiserated with the families that lost their love ones in the course of this elections and urged all relevant agents connected with elections in Nigeria to do their jobs diligently to put a stop to these unwarranted deaths.
