The piece by Media Advocacy West Africa Foundation (MAWA-
Foundation) on ‘Buhari Govt Must Leave Agric Revolution Propaganda and Confront Reality’ which was published in your widely read newspaper across the world is very illustrative and educative.

The piece strengthens the different methodological approach from the sides of the non-governmental organization side and I really appreciate its
content which was timely, focusing on food sufficiency, life
predication, agricultural revolutions, food scarcity and high cost
of living.

I think the government must look at the greens areas which were outlined and call the organization and other agricultural stakeholders, farmers, agriculturists, economy experts and the Minister of Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, States Ministry of Agriculture, Agricultural Development Programs and Local Governments on the way forward, round table discussions
and to channel a new course for the agricultural sector in the
country.

Well, my little concern is that the writer was unable to analyse
the previous agricultural life situations, various problems
mitigating the practices of agriculture before this President and
government came on board that may have lead to high cost of food,
and the problems of  the covid-19 that we are currently facing,
apart from the security problems and propaganda issues that was
outlined, contributed and seriously stressed.

Well, his prediction is not necessary about what it is going to happen in the future. We need to be positive in life. He failed to identify a quick win policy that will help in attaining food security and agricultural development in the country.

Also. the educative, interesting writer did not provide statistical backing in numbers to support his findings – only talking about the price of rice and garri and food scarcity in the country.

I think there are green areas in which the present administration may have scored high. Most farmers are making profits the in different projects and programs of the Federal Government like the Anchor Borrowers Programme. That is coupled with the local and various state governments’ effort in promoting agriculture. Let us continue to encourage them and
should not blame any government.

Agricultural development and nation building with the collective efforts of the government, donor partners, non-governmental organizations and
individuals is required to develop the sector.
