The immediate past Senator that represented Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Sadiku Abubakar Ohere, has extended his heartfelt greetings to Muslims across Nigeria, particularly in Kogi State and his Senatorial District, on the occasion of the commencement of Ramadan Kareem.
In a statement released that he personally signed today, the former lawmaker wished all Muslims a blessed and peaceful Ramadan, urging them to observe the holy month with prayers, reflection, and devotion.
He further called on all citizens to embrace the teachings of Ramadan and to pray for the continued peace and prosperity of Nigeria.
Using the occasion to address the current economic challenges facing the nation, Senator Ohere sympathized with Nigerians, especially those feeling the brunt of rising food prices. He acknowledged the hardships caused by the inflationary pressures, urging citizens to remain patient and hopeful. “I want to assure Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working tirelessly to stabilize the economy and bring relief to the people,” Senator Ohere stated.
He expressed confidence that with the collective effort of the government and the people’s cooperation, the country would overcome the difficulties and emerge stronger.
Senator Ohere also took the opportunity to commend Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State for his exemplary leadership. He praised the Governor for his people-oriented governance, particularly in ensuring the welfare of civil servants and pensioners in the state.
He noted that the Governor’s approach has provided much-needed relief and stability to many families in Kogi State.
Adayi Ohere, as he is fondly called by his supporters also extended his gratitude to former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for laying a solid foundation for the current administration, which has allowed Governor Ododo to continue building on that groundwork for the betterment of the state.
In his message, Senator Ohere called on the people of Kogi State, and Nigerians to use this sacred month of Ramadan to pray for the state government, as well as for the President and other leaders in the country.
He emphasized the importance of prayer in Islam, stressing that it is through the prayers of the people that leaders are guided to make the right decisions for the good of the nation.
“Islam teaches us that prayer is a powerful tool that can lead our leaders to the right path, and it is through these prayers that we can bring about positive change,” he concluded.
