Rabiu Alfa Calls on Kogi State Govt Not To Be Careless About Land Disputes

Hon Rabiu Mommoh Alfa of Ankpa 2 constituency at the Kogi State house of assembly has called on the state government not to give careless attention to the boundary dispute between Kogi local government and Abaji area council of the FCT during a plenary session at the hallowed chamber of the Kogi state house of assembly.

His position was made known while reacting to a motion raised by the member representing Kogi/Kotonkarfe constituency, Hon Mohammed  Zakari Osewu which he urged the national boundaries commission to resolve the boundary dispute between Kogi local government of Kogi state and Abaji area council of the Federal Capital Territory.

Hon Rabiu Mommoh Alfa who is the chairman house committee on Environment stressed that “with the motion on the floor of the house, there is no more case but to call on the state government to come to their aid just like Nasarawa state did recently” noting that “if the place is given careless attention, the state may be the loser”. Thereafter, he supported the motion in entirety.

Rt. Hon. Aliyu Akuh of Omala constituency observed that it was a very serious matter and he sited the Ibaji land disputes as an example of such avoidable occurrence which surfaced as a result of laxity on the part of concerned authorities. The prayers of the mover of the mover of the motion was put to vote by the speaker, Rt Hon Umar Ahmed Imam and the ayes had it.
