Promotion Will Be Based on Merit in Kogi Civil Service – Awoniyi

The Kogi State Government has disclosed that the merit principle used in promotion and elevation  in the  State Civil Service will be sustained.

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi stated this at the thanksgiving service held in honour of  James Adedoyin who was recently elevated as Permanent Secretary in the Kogi State Civil service, held at Kingdom Gate Church, Lokoja.

The Deputy Governor described the civil service as the engine room for the implementation of the present administration’s transformation agenda, assured that no stone will be left upturned in equipping the service for greater service delivery.

The Deputy Governor who was represented by Elder Adavi Abraham, Permanent Secretary, Administration in the office of the Deputy Governor, said the merit principle policy will no doubt enhanced the efficiency of the Kogi State Civil Service.

Awoniyi assured that the present administration under Capt Idris Wada will continue to give the training of staff and improvement in the welfare of the State Civil Service a priority.

Awoniyi urged James Adedoyin, the newly elevated Permanent Secretary to see his elevation not as an end,but an elixir to spur him and others to work hard towards achieving the desired service the present administration long for.

Awoniyi congratulated James Adedoyin on his elevation and urge him to keep up the good work that has enabled his elevation, adding that the present administration will always reward hard work.

Also speaking, Dr Moses Atakpa, Kogi State Head of Service, said the Kogi State civil service is presently under going efficiency transformation.

Also speaking,the State commissioner for information described the newly elevated permanent secretary as a hard working officer whose elevation was well deserved,urged him to continue with his good work.

The Head of service said the introduction of aptitude test for promotion was geared towards an improved workforce, commended the Wada administration for his love and support to the state civil service.

Rev David Adeniji, in his sermon, called on people to always show appreciation to God for what ever elevation they make in life.

In his remarks, Pastor James Adedoyin, thanked the State Government for the attention it is giving to the state civil service, assured that the elevation will spur him to contribute to the transformation agenda of the Capt Idris Wada’s administration.
