Youth and Professionals in Kogi State  under the aegis of “Project Kogi First”  has called on all the ethnics, religious and political groups in the state  to join hands  with the incoming government to free the state from the grip of perpetual economic and social under development.

Addressing a press conference at NUJ press centre in Lokoja yesterday, the convener of the Project Kogi First, Pharmacist Ojeje Amin Onimisi said the group had recommended various practical economic policies that would lead to actualization of the collective dream of the people of the state.

According to him, in the recent past Kogi youth were the primary victims of years of mis-governance and tools for all forms of vices , saying the youth have come to terms with the importance of peace as a panacea for physical  development.

While emphasizing on  generational change in the leadership of the state, Onimisi noted that ” we would like to state categorically that we have decided to give all the necessary support and cooperation to the administration of the incoming governor, His  Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who is brilliant, young and successful entrepreneur.

” We are convinced that Kogi wouldn’t have been luckier having such a dynamic and fine mind person at the helm of our affairs. We will be counting on his managerial skills and experience in public offices to turn around the economic fortunes of our great state”

Appealing to all the aggrieved persons  during and after the supplementary governorship election to channel their complains to appropriate authorities, the convener urged them to desist from inflammatory statement capable of instigating violence and anarchy.

According to him ” Kogi youths will no longer be available tools for destruction , but rather agents of good governance and development”.

In his good will message , the Chief Strategist of Yahaya Bello Campaign Organization Mr Edward Onoja attributed Kogi backwardness to the existing leadership gap, saying the incoming government of Bello would definitely put an end to the challenges of leadership in the state.

Onoja however charged youths  to set up Kogi treasury watch to enable them check mate the activities of their leaders.
