Board of Trustees of the Akogba Mountain Resort Initiative has announce the appointment of Prince Morakinyo Otitoju (PMO) as the Chairman of the Planning Committee for the 2025 edition of the Akogba Mountain Hike.

A statement issued by the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Barr. Dayo Babalola, on Monday said the decision was reached following a virtual meeting of the Board on Friday.

The Board Chairman expressed gratitude to Dr. Dayo Mejabi, the immediate past Chairman of the Planning Committee, for his remarkable leadership and dedication in delivering successful editions of the mountain hike in previous years.

He noted that Dr. Mejabi’s efforts have set a high standard, and the Board is truly grateful for his incredible contributions.

He added that Prince Morakinyo Otitoju is taking on this role at a pivotal moment, and they are confident in his ability to lead the planning team to build on the strong foundation already established.

“The Board has tasked him with ensuring that no stone is left unturned in raising the bar for the 2025 edition.

“I would like to assure Prince Otitoju and the entire planning team of the unwavering support of the Board of Trustees. Together, we aim to continue positioning Ekinrin-Adde as a leading tourist destination in Nigeria, renowned for hosting memorable and impactful events.

“In line with this vision, various activities have been carefully planned to ensure that the 2025 Akogba Mountain Hike exceeds expectations. These plans will be unveiled in the coming days as the restructured planning committee meets to finalize preparations,” he said.

Barr. Babalola stated that the Akogba Mountain Hike is more than just an event, but a testament to the beauty and potential of Ekinrin-Adde as a hub for tourism and culture and Akogba Mountain and its sister monoliths around it are testament to the beauty of Ekinrin-Adde, her people and her irresistible landscapes.

“We are motivated to make this year’s edition an unforgettable experience that will not only draw visitors from across the country and outside of Nigeria but also reinforce our community’s position on the tourism map of Nigeria.”
