It is well knowned fact that we in kogi state, are been betrayed by our own flesh and blood, people we elected and bestowed upon them the mantle for the realization of the Kogi state dreams. Dreams which include among others: functional education for all, qualitative and quantitative health care delivery, economic and social emancipation for all, infrastructural and social development for all in a nutshell better life for the present generation and those yet unborn, irrespective of their economic, social, political or tribal affiliations. The chronic political betrayals by our political elites and other entities in the land has made those dreams to become mere wishes.” If wishes were like horses, even beggars may ride”. The greatest of these betrayals is that from our elected representatives, both at the state and federal level who have decided to be leaving the abuja dreams instead of the kogi state dream.

It is well know fact that when ever you see President Goodluck Jonathan on T.V., if there is any governor around him it is either Akpabio or our own Captain Idris Wada. Why is the captain always in the villa? What is he doing? n what does he intend to achieve?.The answer to the question is not yet known, while other thought that he might have been appointed as one of P.A to the president (laughing), others see it as been connected with the November 26 Supreme Court judgement between Wada and Jubri Isa Echocho.  Only God knows best the reason for the such frequent visits.

While other governors are always at home identifying with the visions and goals of their respective state, identifying with the pains n troubles of their people with a view of finding a possible solutions to this problems. Ours is busy in Abuja doing what is best known to him…….while the state is continuously been flooded with poverty, hunger and infrastructural decay. Infact Wada has turn himself into a visiting governor with his permanent residence in Abuja. More pathetic is that all this traveling expenses are made from the tax payer’s money. Why can’t he stay at home?

Another set of political betrayers are the national assembly members, who in their regular trade mark are rarely seen in their constituencies.

Kogi state is represented at the national assembly by 3 senators and nine house of representative members, none of those members can boast of a concrete constituency project to justify the amount of subventions the get on behalf of their constituencies. Even Senator Aidoko of my senatorial district (Kogi East) is guilty of such. What about Senator Smart Adeyemi (Kogi West), the last time I saw him on air was when he was engaged in an open fight with Senator Goje about the new PDP and old PDP pendulum in the house.

Most of those in house of representatives are seen only in Abuja patronizing expensive hotels with their friend and family, drinking exotic wine, juice and foods, while their people back home are eating Oje abacha, garri and drinking water from wells and free flowing streams.

All what they have at the back of their mind is now 2015. After all their atrocities they will still come back to us again for our votes, using the amber of hunger, poverty and sentiment that has affected the mentality of the people to clinch on to power. Most disappointing is that even though we did not vote them, they will say we voted them via they almighty power of the electoral institution. The common man does not have the power to resist the power of electoral manipulations but all we need is political representatives that can bring smiles on the faces of the average Kogites on the street. If we cannot overcome the spirit of primordial sentiments: tribal or religion in the state, then this crops of political parasites will keep on recycling themselves.

It does not matter whether its a yoruba or ebira or igala MAN that comes to power, all we need is equal socio-economic and political development in all sphere of human endeavour in the state.

MAY GOD HELP US FROM THE HANDS OF THIS NATURAL DISASTERS!
