Madawaki who disclosed this when he paid a courtesy visit to the NUJ , secretariat, stated that he came to cement cordial relationship between the police and journalists in the state. He commended journalists for the coverage of the command, urging them to do more to assist the police.
The Commissioner of Police however appealed to practising Journalists in the state to always seek clarification and cross check fact to balance their stories before publications to avoid misunderstandings between the two parties.
Responding, the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kogi State Council, Alhaji Ali Atabor commended the Commissioner of Police for the visit, adding that this was the second time when a serving Commissioner of Police would visit NUJ.
Ali explained that the visit is very unique to fortified the cordial relationship between Police and the Media in Kogi State, stressing that era of hostile Commissioners of Police is gone for good.
