Residents of the ancient city of Anyigba in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State were shocked at the show of shame that was displayed at the wedding ceremony between the erstwhile spokesman of immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Mr Phrank Shuaibu and his long time fiancee. The bizarre event has now become the talk of the town.
It was sad scene on Saturday, 1st June 2013 at Anyigba when the well known groom refused to show up for his own wedding. All was set, the bride and her family were already at the event waiting for the groom who without prior notice failed to attend his wedding. Expectedly, the bride was devastated and wept uncontrollably.
To reduce tension, the bride’s family quickly arranged for a stranger represent Mr Phrank Shuaibu. When the time came for the groom to kiss the bride, the stranger who took Phrank’s role could not kiss the bride. The strange couple could not cut the ‘wedding’ cake when it was time to do so as well.
After the strange wedding ceremony, Phrank Shuaibu’s ‘new wife’ was taken to his maternal grandmother’s house at Egume instead of his place at Agodo in Bassa.
The reception that was scheduled to hold at Victor Adoji’s compound in Ayangba was cancelled and none of Phrank Shuaibu’s core friends were around for the wedding.
Phrank Shuaibu, a media consultant is yet to give reasons for his actions as people continue to condemn his act.
