The Clerk and Head of Legislative Service of Kogi State House of Assembly, Alh Chogudo Sule Ahmed, has attributed the peaceful celebration of Christmas and New Year in the state to Governor Yahaya Bello’s huge investment on security.
Alh Chogudo Ahmed, who thanked God on behalf of Governor Bello and the citizens of the state for the existing peace in the state, said it is a recipe for growth and development of Kogi.
The Clerk made this known in a statement signed by the Deputy Clerk Administration and General Service of the House, Aka Adebayo Michael and made available to newsmen in Lokoja.
While stating that some states in Nigeria are on daily basis in the news for criminal tendencies, insurgence , kidnapping and terrorism, he said that the situation is different in Kogi state where peace and security prevail.
According to him, peace and security are obvious, undeniable and incomparable, largely due to Gov Bello’s determination and huge investment on the security sector.
He lamented that in such states, citizens are unable to sleep with their two eyes closed, adding that no one prays to reside in a turbulent place.
Chogudo once again congratulated the governor for superintending upon the rancour free November 11th Governorship election to the shame of enemies of the state.
While appreciating the Speaker, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf on behalf of parliamentary staff for his gesture which eased their financial burden during the Yuletide celebration, he also felicitated with all the parliamentary staff on the peaceful New Year celebration and thanked them for their cooperation and support in the years past.
The Clerk, however, called on them to be more committed, dedicated and hardworking in the new year for better results.
