Mohammed Kabir, the Deputy Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kogi State, has emerged the interim chairman of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) in the State.
Also, the state chairman of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alh. Mouktar Atima was elected secretary of CNPP.
Mohammed, Atima and five other officials were unanimously elected by the seven-man committee of the CNPP on Friday in Lokoja.
Other officials that were elected include: Treasurer โ S.O. Igbomade; Financial Secretary โ Apostle Matthew I.O. Ogbaje; PRO โ Methuselah Alonge; Woman Leader โ Mrs Bola Awe; Organising Secretary โ Ibrahim Imam.
In his acceptance speech, Kabir warned members of the CNPP who are wolves in sheep clothing to desist or be ready to be exposed, declaring that it is no longer business as usual under his watch.
He urged members of the political parties to forge a common union to give a voice to the people of the state and to make constructive criticisms when policymakers deviate from their social contract with the state.
He called on journalists whom he said are partners in progress to at all times ensure adequate coverage of their activities in their bid to make the state a better place for all.
