Former member of the House of Representatives, Tolorujuwon Faniyi, has emerged the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Yagba Federal Constituency of Kogi State for the 2023 elections.
At the party’s Reps primary election in Isanlu, Yagba East Local Council headquarters, yesterday, Faniyi was chosen by 62 delegates, while 42 preferred his closest rival, Edward Meseko.
The returning officer, Jude Idris, said: “Faniyi, having scored the majority of legal votes in the election, stands declared as the winner.”
Earlier, current member representing Lokoja-Kogi federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Barr. Shaba Ibrahim emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party flag bearer for the forthcoming general election.
He polled 54 votes to defeat Hon. Danladi Bababudon who garnered 10 votes.
In Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu, Otunba Olaiya Michael Olobatoke picked PDP House of Rep ticket.
Olobatoke won his closest challenger, Arch. Salman Idris by 34 to 32 votes.
