Kogi state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the recent appointment of Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) by Governor Yahaya Bello to take charge of the 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state as illegal.
The party’s Director of Research and Documentation, Dickson Achadu made this known in a statement in Lokoja on Friday.
Achadu said the appointment was also unconstitutional.
He expressed shock that the State Government, having run the councils for four years with illegally constituted administrators, could turn round to reappointment same people as SSAs.
“We therefore call on the Inspector General of Police to be proactive by investigating the motives behind the appointments,” he said.
Bello had on Thursday appointed Senior Special Assistants on Security Matters to work with the Directors of Local Government (DLGs) in the administration of the local government councils in the state.
