A frontline aspirant for Federal House of Representatives representing Yagba Federal Constituency at the National Assembly under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) and the immediate past Member of Kogi State House of Assembly that represented Yagba East Constituency between 2007 and 2011, Alhaji Ganiyu Salaudeen aka Erukutu Yagba has described the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the country particularly in Kogi State as undemocratic party.
The astute politician disclosed this during the adoption ceremony of Hon. Aro Bamidele Samuel as the sole Senatorial Candidate for Kogi West Senatorial District under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forthcoming general election. The endorsement was done by the entire Yagba people, the program was held in Isanlu, the Headquarters of the federal constituency. Alhaji Ganiyu stated this during a chat with a group of journalists shortly after the event.
According to him, he decided to abandon the People’s Democratic Party due to what he called autocratic and totalitarian ways of the current leadership of the party in the state, noting that the party has virtually become the property of an individual who decides whatever he wants to do without recourse to the people.
The former council boss expressed his dissatisfaction with the way and manner the leadership of the party behave, stressing that the crop of the personalities managing the affairs of the party has failed the populace; hence he and so many other gallant politicians had to leave.
Erukutu said he has lost contact with Senator Smart Adeyemi over two years ago despite the fact that he (Erukutu) was the Director General of his (Senator Smart) campaign organization which ensured resounding victory for him at the 2011 general elections, stressing that his disagreement with the incumbent Senator is as a result of his third term agenda which would hinder Yagba Federal Constituency from taking its rightful slot of the Senatorial rotation in the district.
According to him, the senator has barely seven to eight months to round up his tenure and give way for a Yagba son in person of Hon. Sam Aro who has been tested and trusted as a successful and outstanding personality during his tenure as member Federal House of Representatives between 2007 and 2011.
