PDP Inaugurates Campaign Committee for Lokoja–Kogi Bye Election

Ahead of the forthcoming 11th August, 2018 Lokoja-Kogi Federal Constituency bye election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated a sixty man campaign committee.

The Campaign Committee is headed by Hon. Sam Abenemi, as Director General.
Committees inaugurated are those of Security, Mobilization, Contact and Mobilization, Media and Publicity.
Inaugurating the campaign committee at the state PDP Secretariat today, the state PDP Chairman, Engr. Sam Uhotu, called on the campaign committee to ensure victory for the PDP and its candidate, Engr Bashiru Abubakar.

He said that the calibre of members appointed showed the importance the party attaches to the forthcoming bye election.

“Lokoja Kogi Federal Constituency means so much to our party because of the strategic position it occupies in the State.

“It also mean much to us based on the fact that Lokoja Kogi Federal Constituency has always been a PDP dominated constituency and so we need to reclaim what belongs to us,”  he said.

Uhotu said the PDP hopes to win the polls given the strength and popularity of the party.

He claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) having observed that it has been rejected by the people of Kogi state plans to “rig the poll at all cost”.

“Let me warn that the PDP will resist every attempt to thwart the will of the people in Lokoja Kogi federal constituency bye election.”

He urged the campaign council members to “harness the aspirations of Lokoja-Koton Karfe people and ensure that their will prevails.”

Sam Abenemi, Director General of the Campaign Committee, said the committee would do its best to ensure that PDP wins the election.

He said that with the quality of the people in the council, there was no room for failure.

“We promise that we will make sacrifices to give it our best.”

Some members of the committee include, Dr Shehu Idris, Suleiman Babadoko, Hon. El-Shettima Agbogun, M.O. Sule, Mohammed Balga, Danladi Bababudon, Umar Angulu, Alfred Bello, Adamu Osuku, Abdulrahman Wuya, Taiwo Ojo, Margret Orebiyi, Shaba Ibrahim, Ibrahim Labaran, Abu Sule, Nadama Bello, Yakubu Bawa, Angulu Umar and Idris Lokoja.
