Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have kicked against alleged plot to manipulate the ward congresses to pick three adhoc delegates in Kogi state.
The leaders alleged that Senate President Bukola Saraki has ordered the electoral panel chairman to manipulate the results brought from the various wards to tilt the advantage towards the returnee Senator Melaye.
The adhoc delegates will join statutory delegates to elect party flag-bearers in the forthcoming primaries.
Reports from the coalition centre at Hope Confluence Hotel, Lokoja, confirmed that the entry of returned delegates for Kogi Central and East senatorial districts is ongoing smoothly but the list for Kogi West is causing much headache due to alleged interference from Saraki.
Sen. Dino Melaye, party sources disclosed, did not show up at all for the ward congresses, but the Senate President is alleged to have directed the panel to help include some names in favor of the Kogi West Senator.
The Chairman of the Kogi Electoral panel, who hails from Kwara state, is reportedly making efforts to inject the names of delegates who were not present at the Ward Congresses.
However, party officials of PDP in Kogi State have vowed to resist the manipulations and instructions from Senate President saying the impunity must not be allowed.
